Malaysian courier service J&T has seen turmoil in the past few days, and here’s a short summary on what’s happening.
Two days ago (Feb 6), a video originating from TikTok went viral. Its content showcased a couple of courier workers throwing parcels around, with no regard whatsoever for the possibility of damaging it.
Later discovered to be Malaysian courier service J&T (Perak branch), speculation, assumptions and rumors began to spread. Netizens took to social media the main reason behind said video: wage injustices among J&T riders.
Regardless of verification, the issue began to spread showing stats of how workers in the company, were being unfairly treated.
Since then, the company has been asked to be held accountable to both workers and customers alike, and earlier today, J&T did indeed, take the reins.
Via a post on their Facebook page, the company addressed the matter with a press release, as well as an apology and a promise.
Besides that, they also went ahead to upload a video of the workers from the TikTok video apologizing for their behavior, and explaining that there was never an internal issue to begin with.
