KLUANG - A grandchild's wish to drive grandparents to a clinic in Simpang Renggam to collect medicine was unfulfilled when their Perodua Alza collided with a sand lorry in an incident at Jalan Johor, Kampung Pinggir here today.
In the accident at about 9 am, the Perodua Alza driver, Izzah Shahirah Sahri, 22, died at the scene due to being stuck in the vehicle.
The accident also claimed the life of grandfather, Md. Salleh Kosran, 75, and his grandmother, Miskina Naining, 70.
Operations Commander from Renggam Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), Senior Assistant Fire Superintendent Mohd. Fauzi Md. Nor said that his party received an emergency call at 9.09 am.
“Seven members of the Operations Exit Team (PKO) together with a machine were rushed to the scene after receiving a call before finding out that there was an accident involving a Perodua Alza and a sand truck without a Hino type load.
“PKO acted to remove the trapped victims using special equipment. The three victims in the Perodua Alza car were confirmed dead at the scene, "he said in a statement here today.
