Based on reports, children aged 5 to 11 will be receiving their Covid-19 vaccine appointments beginning February 2022.
Via Twitter yesterday (Jan 19), JKJAV noted that currently, Pfizer is the only vaccine appropriate for kids and has proven to be both safe and effective (90% lesser chance of getting infected).
Children would however, only receive 1/3 of the dosage given to adults, and those with comorbidities or are at high risk of contracting Covid-19 would be prioritized.
Side-effects on the other hand, have said to be mild and moderate in most children. Nevertheless, those who have had a history of severe allergies (anaphylaxis) against medicines, food, or anything else, would be exempted from the jab.
Children who also develop allergic reactions 72 hours after jab 1, will not be given jab 2.
