After more than ten action-packed years of service, Bad, a Labrador police sniffer dog, passed away from old age, at the age of 13 years and 8 months, or equivalent to 91 human years. His companions, the Pahang police headquarters staff wished him farewell during his burial, all with broken hearts.
Before extending a last salute befitting a hero at Alor Akar, the officers, under the direction of Pahang police technical assistance division (D6) chief Assistant Superintendent Chia Che Chau, laid yellow flower stalks on Bad's tomb.
The German Labrador, a K9 tracking dog for the Pahang police, joined the team on August 4, 2011, when he was just two years old. Under the guidance of his handler Corporal Willen Slamping @ Sirampin, it performed the duties of a drug sniffer dog.
In the report, it was stated that during his time in service, Bad "utilised his abilities and played a crucial part during two big operations to bust narcotics syndicates in 2012 and 2014."
"Bad's duty and commitment will always remain as a contribution to the beloved country," the posting's addendum stated.
Precious Bad was laid to rest close to his partner Tho, who passed away from old age on September 19th, 2020, another Labrador that worked as a drug detection dog as well, in the exact same location.
According to the poster, Pahang police will create a "K9 Memorial Park" at the location of the two K9 canines' final resting places, as a way to commemorate the two noble creatures and their priceless contribution to the country.
Run free across the rainbow bridge, Bad. You were the bestest boy!
