Netizens are buzzing with opinions and arguments after a bizarre incident unfolded at a shopping mall in the Klang Valley.
A male TikToker, known as @Meloooww00, innocently recorded a video inside the mall, capturing the hustle and bustle of the surroundings. Little did he know that his seemingly harmless act would soon escalate into a social media frenzy.
As fate would have it, two girls came in the frame while he was filming. One of them, a local influencer, felt uncomfortable and sensed she was being recorded without her consent.
In a moment of fiery defiance, she defiantly raised her middle finger to him.

basically what happened is that OP was just recording for fun then the pink shoes lady went down the escalator, thought she was being recorded & proceeded to flip the OP off.
idk, what do yall think? ️ pic.twitter.com/lHybkUIaSk
The incident quickly gained traction when Twitter user @zabedabedoo shared a screenshot of the now-deleted video, sparking a heated debate online. Some netizens sided with the influencer, arguing that her reaction was justified given the invasion of privacy.
Others, however, pointed out that the TikToker's intentions might have been innocent, and the influencer's response was uncalled for.
Taking to her Instagram Story, the influencer expressed her anger and frustration, questioning the legality of being recorded without consent.
She demanded an explanation from him, challenging his motives for capturing her on camera. She refused to remain silent and defended her actions, labelling herself as the victim in this peculiar situation.

Video tu memang random record je nak rakam suasana mall macam tu then perempuan tu yang lalu dalam video. Kalau nak kena minta permission setiap orang yang lalu pishang juga.

Recording in open public place (side walk) does not require permission (different rules if you have a large production team).

Recording in private property (mall and govt premises) need permission.
Recording people for commercial purposes, you need a talent release form.
The OP wasnt even focusing on her. She just happened to be in the scene. Id avoid the camera knowing someone is recording/taking pictures. The flip off was unnecessary, couldve just settle it there. Not a big deal pun actually

Netizens were divided in their opinions, with some suggesting that both parties shared the blame. They believed that the influencer could have handled the situation differently, addressing the issue directly rather than resorting to a provocative gesture.
salah dia jugak before rafidah tunjuk fuck pun dia focus kat rafidah lama memang setepek lah kena benda record dalam mall pergi lah record benda lain sunset ke apa ke dah gitu boleh jadi salah faham jugak

I personally avoid recording people in public because I would have HATED to be recorded.

My social media pun private, but someone, somewhere can still freely take my picture without me noticing and spread it around like a forest fire. I'd flip them out too
Dua dua ada salah. Yang record pun dah kenapa nak record orang? I kalau nk selfie ada orang public pun i elakkan sbb tak nk diorang tak selesa.. Yang rafidah pun sbnrnya boleh just jalan laju2 buat tak tau la. Tapi tu lah, maybe dia geram tak faham kenapa camera tu tuju dkt dia?

Others questioned the TikToker's intentions, finding it peculiar that he would record such mundane scenes in a mall.
