Was this intern’s reason justified?
According to Syafiq Suhaimi who heads his very own accounting firm, he was compelled to share a former intern’s very brief work experience, which he deemed acted “soft”.
Apparently after just a week of internship, the student decided to quit on the grounds of “extreme stress”. He/she was only given three simple tasks, and had just completed one prior to quitting.
Syafiq further explained that the latter even brought his/her mother along to hand a doctor’s written proof, citing he/she was unable to work there any longer.
Upon finding out that student had found a new internship, he asked whether he/she is able to cope, as no workplace is guaranteed stress-free.
Drama aside, the firm is now looking for a substitute, which Syafiq joked won’t be “burdened with many tasks”.
He’s also implored parents not to spoil children, as he finds many are too soft nowadays and couldn’t bear challenges.
