The International Book Fair (PBAKL) this year has been met with enthusiastic response from Malaysians. Amid the bustling atmosphere, many attendees have shared their experiences of buying food and drinks at PWTC.
A Facebook post by Mohd Fadly Samin highlighted the exorbitant price of a beverage he ordered at a cafe in PWTC, sparking widespread attention. Fadly expressed his surprise at the high cost of drinks compared to the food he ordered.
This morning I had an iced tea from the heavens... Haha... My mistake for not checking the price first... Life goes on, Fadly wrote in his post.
According to the image he shared, his total bill came to RM29. What caught everyone's eye was the RM11 charge for a single cup of iced tea, a price many found unreasonable and exorbitant.
Remarkably, the price of a packet of mi goreng was significantly cheaper than the iced tea.
In the comments section, numerous netizens advised future visitors to be more cautious when ordering food or drinks at PWTC.
"They really hiked up the price of drinks. Its like hotel rates," one user commented.
"How could they charge RM11 for iced tea? Thats just outrageous. The cost to make it is so minimal," another user shared.
"I visited last week with my kids, and noticed those sky-high prices too," another netizen added.
Following Fadlys post, other visitors also shared similar experiences of being charged high prices, with some even posting pictures of their receipts as evidence.
