60 individuals were left trapped at Gunung Ledang waterfall yesterday, after a footbridge was cut off due to a sudden water surge.

The individuals, believed to be factory workers, had gone to the site for a picnic when the distressing incident occurred.

As the footbridge was partially destroyed, they were unable to cross to the other side.

According to the Tangkak Fire and Rescue Station chief, rescue efforts quickly commenced, which involved nine personnel.

In a video shared by @kakiluncurmuara on TikTok, rescuers were seen using a rope to bring everyone to safety.

The firefighters’ swift response received praises from viewers as no casualties were reported.

As for the public, it’s highly advisable to avoid going to a waterfall or beach due to the rainy season.
