A 38-year-old delivery worker was arrested for allegedly stealing RM37 worth of skincare products from a parcel she was entrusted to deliver. The incident unfolded after a 42-year-old man, the intended recipient of the package, lodged a police report on December 11.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner M. Kumarasan revealed that the woman was apprehended the same night at an apartment following the complaint. Authorities seized two bottles of cleansing water, a box of avocado plant extract wet wipes, and two bottles of lotion during the arrest.
Investigations suggest the suspect completed the delivery process by providing proof of receipt to the recipient, who was not present at the time. However, she allegedly took the package with her after leaving the area.
"The suspect has been remanded for five days to facilitate further investigation," said ACP Kumarasan. He also confirmed that the woman tested negative for drugs and has no prior criminal record.
