The recent Jeju Air plane crash which claimed the lives of 179 victims came as a shock as many decipher how the crash happened in the first place.
Based on reports, although definitive causes have yet to be revealed, there are 6 possible ways as to how the plane and all those onboard met with their jarring demise.
Here they are.
1. Bird strike leading to landing gear failure
Initial reports suggest that a bird strike may have caused mechanical issues, particularly with the landing gear, necessitating an emergency belly landing
2. Collision with a concrete wall
After the emergency landing, the aircraft collided with a concrete wall at the runway's end, leading to a fatal explosion
3. Electrical faults
Some investigations point towards potential electrical faults that may have affected the plane's systems during the flight
4. Aircraft overuse
The aircraft had completed 13 flights in 48 hours prior to the incident, raising concerns about potential overuse during peak season, which might have contributed to mechanical failures
5. Pilot error
The possibility of human error during the emergency procedures is also being considered, though no specific evidence has been reported
6. Weather conditions
Adverse weather conditions at the time of landing could have played a role, although this has not been confirmed
More definitive cause shall be released in due time.
