Lockdown is here, instead of feeling depressed about it, why not try learning a new skill?

Candle making is not only therapeutic, but it is also profitable. So, when venturing into this world, what you should know is that it helps you release some stress and also earn some money.

If you don’t like the pressure of going into business, then at least you have a ton of scented candles at hand whenever you need one for yourself or maybe as a handcrafter gift to a friend.

But if you love going into business, then go get that cash honey. We love a girl boss! Do your thang.

Here’s what you will need to make candles:

+ Pot

+ Hot plate or electric stove

+ Wax

+ Wick

+ Container

+ Fragrance (optional)

+ Color (optional)

+ Skewers or Popsicle sticks

You can get a whole candle making kit on shopee or you can visit this website which has a whole category for candle making and sells all the candle making materials in bulk.

Before you start doing anything, you need to place the wick in position at the bottom center of your candle container.

2. Heat the Wax

The second step is just adding your candle wax to your pot and heating it, so that it will melt. Once it has all melted, just add in your colouring and fragrance.

For a less overpowering scent, don’t add too much, just one or two drops will do. As you experiment, you will find the perfect amount for different scents and different sizes.

3. Transfer the wax

Use the skewers or popsicle sticks to hold the wick in place while slowly pouring in the wax into the candle container. Then, leave it to cool down completely.

Once it has completely cooled, you can trim the wick and tadaa, you have a scented candle.
