After RM1K siakap and and RM100 sotong goreng fiasco, here comes another outrageous variant— RM18 kailan goreng ikan masin. 

A customer uploaded their meal purchase at a retaurant in Kepala Batas, Seberang Perai, expressing disbelief upon realizing they were charged RM 18 for a portion-for-one kailan goreng ikan masin (fried chinese broccoli with fermented fish pieces). The custoer decided to share their experience and many who saw the post shared the same sentiment— that the price was simply abominable. Needless to say, the post quickly went viral. 

Following multiple complaints, Penang's Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNKK) has responded by saying that the matter has been duly investigated. As a result, one (1) Notice of Product Information Verification (NPMB) has been issued to the relevant vendor and they are required to respond in two business days. 

Will price hikes such as this be the new normal for us in the near future?
