Following the sudden suspension of operations by MYAirline, two budget airlines have stepped in to assist stranded passengers and MYAirline's staff.
Batik Air has introduced special fixed fares for selected routes, valid until November 30 and subject to seat availability. The one-way fares include:
- RM129 for Penang
- RM159 for Langkawi
- RM199 for Kuching
- RM299 for Bangkok (Don Mueang) and Kota Kinabalu
all-inclusive.
Additionally, AirAsia has announced a generous 50% discount on base one-way fares, applicable exclusively to MYAirline passengers. This offer covers flights to and from Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Penang, Tawau, Kota Bharu, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Kota Kinabalu-Tawau, and both Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi airports in Bangkok. The discount does not include airport tax, Mavcom fee, fuel surcharge, and other applicable fees.
To avail of these offers, affected MYAirline passengers can present their confirmed flight bookings at AirAsia sales counters located at KL Sentral in Kuala Lumpur and the specified destinations' airports.
Furthermore, AirAsia Aviation Group CEO Bo Lingam has expressed the airline's willingness to consider hiring MYAirline staff and has encouraged affected employees to get in touch with them.
“We are pleased to consider hiring eligible and qualified individuals from MYAirline who share our passion for the industry and are willing to contribute their skills and expertise to our team,” said the CEO.
