The sight of the "Roti Pocong" dish at a bazaar in Paroi, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, has stirred quite a buzz, with its eerie resemblance to the famous ghostly figure known as "pocong." The dish has garnered attention for its unique concept and the hefty price tag of RM10 per pack.
In a video posted by user YusriBaharin on TikTok, which has gone viral, several pieces of the pocong-shaped bread were showcased on a metal tray before the camera turned to the stall's decoration resembling the ghostly figure.
"Is that pocong bread filled with graveyard soil? It's so expensive!" remarked one netizen in the comments.

Others were surprised at seeing the ghost-like decor in front of the stall. Local media reported that the dish had become a crowd favourite, thanks to the efforts of two young entrepreneurs from Senawang, Negeri Sembilan, Firdaus Kamaruddin, 38, and his partner, Yusri Baharin, 36.
Yusri, who uploaded the viral video on TikTok, explained that the bread is not yet fully prepared as shown in the video. He clarified that the dish comprises minced barbecue meat wrapped in eggs and roti canai. According to him, cheese slices are added to the pocong-shaped bread upon the customer's order and then grilled until melted. Customers are also offered a choice of three sauces to accompany the dish: carbonara sauce, Korean-style spicy sauce, and black pepper sauce.
Regarding complaints about the RM10 price tag, Yusri speculated that netizens might have assumed the dish shown in the video was the final product, making it seem overpriced. However, he assured me that additional ingredients were yet to be added, making it worth the price.
Despite the initial confusion, the "Roti Pocong" continues to attract curious foodies to the Ramadan bazaar, offering them a unique and flavorful experience beyond the traditional offerings.
