A 64-year-old man was found dead at the entrance of a hypermarket in Klebang, near Ipoh, on Friday evening, prompting an ongoing police investigation.
According to Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, the district police received a call from the public around 6:13 pm, alerting them to an unconscious man at the location. Initial examinations showed no visible injuries on the man, identified as a local resident, who was found lying at the hypermarkets entrance.
According to TheStar, the deceased's body was transferred to the forensic department at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital on Saturday morning for a post-mortem examination, which is expected to shed light on the cause of death.
In connection with the incident, police have arrested a 24-year-old woman from Sabah to assist with the investigation. The woman, who has no prior criminal record, was taken into custody on Friday and has been remanded for seven days. Authorities are continuing their investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which deals with offenses of a serious nature.
ACP Abang Zainal Abidin has confirmed that efforts are underway to determine any further details about the incident, including identifying additional suspects. The police are urging anyone with information related to the case to step forward and assist the investigation.
