Production is officially underway for Lucky, an upcoming Apple TV+ limited series starring and executive produced by Anya Taylor-Joy.
The crime-romance drama, based on Marissa Stapleys bestselling novel, kicked off filming in Las Vegas before moving to Los Angeles, where the majority of the series will be shot.
Taylor-Joy, best known for her roles in The Queens Gambit and Furiosa, leads the series as a young woman who once walked away from a life of crime only to be pulled back in for one last high-stakes gamble to escape her past.
Starring alongside her is Outer Banks actor Drew Starkey, along with an impressive cast that includes Annette Bening, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, and Timothy Olyphant.
Apple TV+ has assembled an all-star team behind the scenes as well. The series is written by Jonathan Tropper (Warrior, Banshee), who serves as co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Cassie Pappas (Tell Me Lies).
Taylor-Joy is also executive producing through her production company, Ladykiller, with Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter producing under Hello Sunshine, a part of Candle Media.
Director Jonathan Van Tulleken (Shōgun, Trust) will helm multiple episodes, including the pilot.
Lucky promises to be a gripping blend of crime, romance, and high-stakes drama.
