1- Watermelons

Here's one sure-fire trick that will never go wrong.
Look on the bottom of the fruit, or its field spot. It's the spot that the watermelon has rested on the ground.
If it has creamy yellow or orange-yellow spots & web-like brown spots, bring that one home. It's both ripe & sweet!
2- Dragon fruits

Look for ripe ones that has:
- a bright, even color
- no shrivelled stems
- no brown blotches on the surface
3- Limes

Follow these steps.
- Look for ones with smooth skin.
- Rotate the fruit while you press gently with your thumb. Thin & soft means it's juicy while thick ones are unripe.
4- Pineapples

Try one of these:
- Pluck the leaves on top of the fruit. If it's ripe, it should come off easily.
- Try smelling the bottom part. It should have a sweet, fruity scent if it's ready to be eaten.
- If you gently press on the pineapple, a ripe one will feel soft.
- Get a yellow pineapple, not green.
5- Avocadoes

Who else hates it when they split an avocado open, only to find it hard & unripe? R.I.P avocado toast with eggs.
Find the perfect one by gently flicking the naval or 'belly button' of the fruit. If it comes off easily, it's ready to be eaten.
Plus, when looking for its colour, remember this rule: green is unripe, yellow is perfect & brown is rotten.
6- Tomatoes (surprise, it's a fruit)

Get only ripe ones from the store & here's how.
Look out for the colour. Unripe tomatoes have a dull, matte tone. But, ripe ones are rich, vibrant red in colour with a glossy look.
Next, test the weight & texture. Don't go for something too hard or too soft. Choose the healthy, firm ones in between.
