Astro Awani's [Consider This] tv programme has recently interviewed Harry Tan, the Secretary-General of the National Union of The Teaching Profession (NUTP) and has denied that sexual harassment cases in school is not a common issue in Malaysia. And as usual, users on Twitter have something to say about it.

Tan was responding to the recent National School Walkout Day (NSWD) protest, saying that the NUTP doesn't support such movement.
When Tan was asked that should NUTP be paying attention to the "rape culture, misconduct of teachers", he questioned the prevalence of such issue as there were no data or stats about it.
He also denies that such culture exists in schools as no recent report was filed when he was asked if the NUTP will be investigating into such issue as pointed out by the host that the reason of why victims of sexual harassment not reporting were very well documented before.
“How is this a widespread problem? Where's the data, how many schools are we talking about?” says Harry Tan, Sec-Gen of NUTP when asked by @melisa_idris & @sharaadkuttan if the Teachers' Union is concerned abt abuse allegations in schools. #ConsiderThis at https://t.co/6oMihRqLO5 pic.twitter.com/0vYnThzOmY

# Users of Twitter Responded #
After hearing what Harry Tan has to say, a new hashtag (#HarryTan) on Twitter made it to the trending list. Many were not satisfied about it, raged even.
Harry Tan is a piece of shit shock jock who actually yells out "I'm on the offensive", like he's a fucking anime villain, while denying the reality of sexual harassment in Malaysian schools.

Apparently the denial Harry Tan is one of them. DISAPPOINTED BUT NOT SURPRISED. https://t.co/RkcxlXGZ3h
One user highlighted that "lack of reported cases ≠ lack of incidents happening"
What Harry Tan forgot is lack of reported cases ≠ lack of incidents happening.

If he is demanding the facts, then start proactively gather data. What is NUTP doing anyway. https://t.co/3bKGMjA66C
# The National School Walkout Day #
The Nationwide School Walkout Day (NSWD) aimed to raise the awareness on the #MakeSchoolASaferPlace movement. The protest started after a 17-year-old female student, Ain Husniza Saiful Nizam, filed an allegation on one of her teachers who have made a joke regarding rape in the classroom.
The NSWD movement starts from 6th of May.
