Yesterday, a dashcam recording of a car involved in an accident with a motorcycle in Parit Buntar went viral all over social. The motorcycle ran a red light and crashed into the side of the car, causing the rider to fall on the road while the pillion rider was thrown on the bonnet of the car.
According to Kerian District Police Chief, Superintendent Mazuki Mat, the incident happened around 2.20pm on Sunday involving a Yamaha Ego motorcycle ridden by a 17-year-old girl with her 56-year-old mother.
The two individuals on the motorcycle were reported to be safe and suffered only minor injuries. The incident is believed to have occurred because the motorcycle was speeding and ignoring a red light because the rider was chasing another vehicle that was being ridden by her boyfriend with another woman.
According to Superintendent Mazuki Mat, the accident was caused by the motorcyclist who did not obey the red light and caused a collision with a Perodua Myvi car driven by a 27-year-old engineer.
The Myvi driver later shared the story on a Facebook group and even shared photos of the damage to his car. He advised people not the chase other on the road if it could pose a danger to us.
