Out Of Jealousy, Man Burned His Neighbor's Entire House Down For Allegedly Having An Affair With His wife

Out of jealousy, a man in the province of North Sumatra decided to set fire to his neighbor's house, all because the poor man was suspected of having an affair with his wife, Suara.com news site reported.

The suspect, identified as NS, 39, set fire to the house of the victim, 37-year-old Gong Martua Pulungan, who lived across from his house. According to Barumun Police Chief, Assistant Police Commissioner Miptahuddin, the suspect initially went to the victim's house to look for him but failed.

Overpowered by his own anger, he then poured petrol on a Honda Beat motorcycle belonging to the victim, which was parked inside the house. As if that wasn't enough, the suspect then lit a match and set fire to the victim's house. Ultimately, The whole house was unfortunately destroyed due to the raging fire, said Miptahuddin.

The victim, who suffered a loss of 120 million rupiahs (RM35,175), later lodged a police report, while the suspect is currently being held in a lockup.
