A heartbreaking post shared by Erlang's Dog, the official Facebook of an independent dog shelter in Malaysia has caught the attention of many.
"I'm old so the chance of my surviving is relatively thin." says the man in his post. He has been managing his little shelter since the start of 2012, and now has over 59 dogs under his care. He's been managing everything all on his own with the help of only one helper. Since the pandemic, he has been juggling two jobs just to sustain all the expenses and rent— which costs RM9K or more per month.
In his post, he humbly begs any kind soul to continue to take care of his babies should he succumb to Covid-19 as he loves each and every dog like his own child and has dedicated all his life to looking after them. His heartbreaking plea has touched so many in the comments and some even donated to him.
Out of desperation, the uncle has decided to post his address online in hope that anyone would be able to continue caring for his dogs, in case his condition worsens— something he was reluctant to do in the past due to the safety of the dogs under his care.
