The actor's speculated comeback was officially confirmed following his mid-credit cameo in the recently released Black Adam.
Cavill also personally confirmed the news in a video on Instagram, where he thanked fans for their support and patience.
"I wanted to make it official that I am back as Superman and the image you see in this post and what you saw in Black Adam are a very small taste of what's to come".
