1. Mapping Method
Mind-mapping is a visual way to organize your class notes. The page is organized by topic. The main topic branches out into subtopics with detailed information about each. It is helpful when learning about connections between topics.
2. Outline Method
This method requires you to structure your notes in the form of an outline by using bullet points. Start writing main topics on the top left of the page and add related subtopic in bullet points. This method works best if the class follows a relatively clear structure. This is not suitable for subjects that comprise of formulas and charts.
3. Cornell Method
The page is divided into four sections. One row at the top for title and date (optional). There are two columns in the centre. 70% of the width is for the right column and it is used to take down all notes from the class. All the related notes are arranged together in a dedicated box. This could help you to cut down the reading and reviewing time. You can just write down notes as you would normally do and then assign them to particular boxes.
5. Charting Method
It is a perfect method for notes that comprise of facts and statistics. The information will be classified in columns, similar to a table or spreadsheet. Each column represents a unique category which makes the information easily comparable.
