A woman in Shanghai, China was fired by her boss when she refused to run personal errands for her boss.
She works at an educational institution and was instructed by her boss to bring her boss breakfast every morning (Americano and an egg). Besides that, her boss also asked that she be readily available at all times to serve water when asked.
When she voiced her concerns out in the office chat, she was reprimanded, and then later was terminated without any severance.
She left and then shared her experience on Xiaohongshu, and it quickly went viral. Many criticized the company for being toxic, and condemn her boss’ actions bordering on bullying.
They also praised her for standing up for herself. The pressure from the public, eventually led the company to reinstate her, and fire her boss instead.
