Starting from 9 AM on October 13th to 9 PM on October 19th, a total of 998 areas in Klang Valley will face a four-day water supply disruption.
This is due to the repair and maintenance works at the Sungai Selangor Phase 1 water treatment plant caused by multiple incidents of water pollution. The areas that will be specifically affected are Petaling, Klang/Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor, Kuala Langat, and Kuala Selangor.
According to Air Selangor, water supplies would be channeled to users in stages starting from 5 PM on October 14th until the repair and maintenance works are complete. “The period of water supply disruption and restoration will differ based on the location of the premise and pressure on the water distribution system,”, they added.
A total of 105 water tankers would be delivered to the affected areas with priority given to critical premises such as hospitals and dialysis centers. Eighteen public water taps will also be provided from October 14th to October 16th for those affected.
