An unemployed man was recently charged in the Magistrate's Court here, today, on charges of murdering his stepfather, 65-year-old Mohd Muzni Mohd Noor at their home in Kampung Kota Mengkuang, Wang Tepus, Jitra, early last month.
41-year-old Zulfadhli Zakaria, 41, however, pleaded not guilty after the charges were read to him. On the day of the incident, Zulfadhli was believed to have swung his right hand, motorcycle keys around his grip, and stabbed the victim's left eyebrow and causing the victim to collapse.
Following which he was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries a mandatory death sentence if convicted. Zulfadhli was allowed bail of RM 9000, however, he had failed to pay the required amount, causing him to be detained until the day of trial.
The motive of the murder is still to be discussed.
