Malaysia is home to four of the 13 otter species, which usually reside in wetlands and coastal locations. Taking place at Pantai Puteri Melaka, these family of otters welcomed fishermen from the area and visitors for lunch.
These adorable creatures were seen on camera soliciting visitors to consume food on the beach as fishermen reeled in their catch.
In the footage, the otters are able to seen swimming contentedly along the beach's edge, occasionally returning to the fisherman for food.
In the video, netizens commented on how adorable they were and asked if anyone wanted to adopt them as pets.
However, due to the otter population's reduction, experts have cautioned citizens not to keep them as pets, regardless of how cute they are.
Otters are a protected species in Malaysia, and it is unlawful to catch, kill, trade, or keep them as pets without an authorization.
