Despite having world-class facilities, the mentality of some citizens remains far from first-rate, highlighting how much further we have to go before becoming a fully developed nation.
This issue came to light through a viral video circulating on various social media platforms, showing petrol-powered cars occupying parking spaces specifically designated for electric vehicles (EVs).

These parking spots, equipped with EV charging stations, are intended to serve as a convenient facility for EV owners to recharge their vehicles. However, the video reveals that a significant number of these spaces were taken up by local petrol-powered cars, such as the Proton Saga and Perodua Bezza, which have no need for such charging facilities.
The incident reportedly occurred in Kuantan. While its understandable that regular parking spots were fully occupied, this does not give drivers the right to park their vehicles indiscriminately in spaces reserved for EVs.
The video has sparked outrage among netizens, with many condemning the selfish actions of the drivers who chose to occupy the EV charging stations. Social media users were quick to criticize this behaviour, labelling it as a display of a "B40 mentality," accustomed to taking what doesn't belong to them and stirring up racial or cultural sentiments when confronted.
