Sadly, upon checking with the JPJ, there has not been any official green light for such a vehicle to obtain a valid Vehicle Type Approval (VTA) certificate. VTA is a compulsory process for all new car models before they are permitted to be registered and licensed by JPJ. It is to assure each new model complies with the features and specs as outlined under the Road Transport Act 1987.
It is advisable for the netizen to think twice before making an online purchase, especially those with high cost.
