On the first day of the RMCO, an Ipoh family of 7 people were fined RM1,000 each person as they violated the SOP by sitting at a table for 7 for dining in. The restaurant was fined and forced to closed for one week.
According to Sinchew, the National Security Council mentioned that the number of people on a table depends on the size of the table, but a large table cannot exceed 4 people by following SOP.
The reporter called the National Security Council hotline and inquired about the above case, the official said that it is still compulsory to follow the SOP issued by the National Security Council to maintain social distance.
According to the SOP by NSC, for the F&B industry, tables need to be separated by a distance of 2 meters to ensure that a social distance of at least 1 meter can be maintained and that each consumer is separated by a seat.
The SOP also indicates that restaurants must clearly indicate the number of customers allowed at the same time to ensure that they can meet the social distance.
