Feeling like having breakfast among the remnants of war?
Okay, that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but if you ever find yourself in Penang, there's a quaint little spot nestled within Fort Cornwallis called Breakfast In The Fort, where you can enjoy a variety of hearty breakfasts while enjoying the historical views of the 18th-century bastion fort once built by the British East India Company in 1786.
Typically, you'd need to pay an entrance fee if you're visiting Fort Cornwallis, however, if you tell the guard you're headed for the breakfast spot they'll let you in for free. This is what greets you once you walk in:
As for the menu, you can expect typical English breakfasts as well as some varieties of kinds of pasta. They also have a good range of drinks for both caffeine and non-caffeine drinkers! Their variation of ice-blended avocados is definitely one of the star drinks served here!
The locals would advise you to go on weekdays and early in the morning to avoid the crowd. Other than that, the calming ambiance of this place will melt all your stress away. It's also a walkable distance to the Esplanade, which is a famous tourist area for sightseeing and beautiful OOTD spots!
