Multiple Police Reports Made Against Former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin After Controversial Campaign Speech
Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman has confirmed that the Pahang police department have now received 28 lodged reports that have been made against former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who had allegedly talked about the sensitive subject of 3R (race, religion, royalty) in a speech while at a campaign rally for the Nenggiri state by-election.
The Perikatan Nasional chairman has come under fire recently as multiple reports have been filed against him, including
DAP &
UMNO youth members, after he challenged the authority of Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, during his tenure as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
A video featuring an excerpt of his speech has now been going viral, to which he claimed that he had the support of 115 MPs during the 15th general election, which would have allowed him to form a government. Soon after the claim, he then alleged that he was never invited to do so, before asking the crowd who was the Agong at the time.
Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, the Umno Vice President, has also made a statement on his Facebook page expressing his disappointment over Muhyiddin's speech and further urged the relevant authorities to act against the Pagoh MP.
After receiving all the reports, Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman has now stated that an investigation will be carried out by the Classified Crimes Investigation Unit of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department.
