This Rosemary Water Rinse Is Social Media's Latest Trick For Hair Growth. But Is It Truly Legit?

If there's anything social media is extremely good at, it's definitely beauty hacks! Over the past months especially, both TikTok and YouTube have been raving over the rosemary water rinse for hair growth.

Dubbing it a natural conditioner, beauty gurus swear by this DIY remedy whereby a few spritz on the scalp regularly can combat hair loss or thinning.

But to what extent is its effectiveness? For cosmetic chemist Ginger King however, she's not quite on the same page.

According to King, the rosemary OIL has better antioxidant properties to promote hair growth (unlike the water), due to being oil-soluble. As the homemade rinse is diluted differently, it's hard to measure the efficacy. Besides, there's very little research on rosemary water compared to oil.

Despite the viral hack, King recommends getting hair care products that contain rosemary oil instead.
