Police are currently requesting the assistance of the general public, over a fiery accident that occurred recently this morning (May 11) at 6:59AM.
In the incident, a car and motorcycle caused a major scene after both vehicles became engulfed in flames following the collision of three vehicles at the intersection of Jalan Othman and Jalan Templer.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Shahrulnizam Ja'afar stated that after recieving a report at 8:18 this morning, it was discovered that a 56-year-old woman had driven rushed her car through a traffic light, before unfortunately colliding with another car and a motorcycle.
"The investigation found that the accident happened at 6.59am when a car driven by a 56-year-old woman hit a traffic light before crashing into a car and a motorcycle coming from Jalan Templer."
"As a result of the violation, the Honda Accord driven by the woman and the Yamaha Legend motorcycle caught fire at the scene,"
He further went on to state that the 53-year-old motorcyclist was immediately taken to the University of Malaya Medical Center (PPUM) for treatment after suffering serious injuries.
When asked about whether the woman had run a red light, Ja'afar revealed that the case was currently still under investigation.
"The case is classified under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,"
He has now also urged members of the public who may have been at the scene, to come forward to assist in the investigation.
"We urge those who witnessed the accident to come forward to the nearest police station or contact the investigation officer Sjn Saiful Hasan at 011-2194 2572,"
