A food delivery rider lost his life in a tragic accident after his motorcycle crashed into a Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) Low Voltage Feeder Pillar along Jalan Ayer Keroh-Gapam in Melaka. The incident, which occurred at around 9 PM, resulted in the untimely death of 48-year-old Tan Tian Hau, as reported by Berita Harian.
Melaka Tengah District Police Chief confirmed that authorities received a report about the accident at approximately 9:13 PM. Preliminary investigations revealed that Tan Tian Hau was riding from Gapam towards Ayer Keroh when he allegedly lost control of his motorcycle, leading him to collide with the TNB feeder pillar situated by the roadside.
The impact of the crash was severe, resulting in fatal injuries. Medical personnel who arrived at the scene later confirmed that the victim had passed away.
Following the accident, Tan Tian Hau's body was transported to the Forensic Department at Melaka Hospital, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the precise cause of death.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which deals with causing death by reckless or dangerous driving. Authorities also plan to conduct an inspection of the motorcycle at the Computerized Vehicle Inspection Centre (PUSPAKOM) to aid in the ongoing investigation.
