A small primary school in Terengganu has recently captured the attention of Malaysians online after a video revealing its tiny student population went viral on TikTok.
The video, shared by TikTok user @husnibnsuhaimi, shows a Jalur Gemilang badge presentation ceremony at SJK(C) Jabor in Kemaman. What caught the public's eye wasn't the ceremony itself, but rather the surprisingly small number of students in attendance.

According to the video, only eight students were present at the eventand of that number, only one was a female student. The quiet and intimate gathering quickly became a point of discussion, as netizens were stunned to see such a low student count in a functioning government school.
In response to curious viewers in the comment section, the original poster shared additional insights about the school's current state. He revealed that SJK(C) Jabor only has four classes in total and no canteen.
"There are only two sports houses, no canteen. The class with the most students has four, the least has one, and there are only four classes altogether," he explained.
He also clarified that the school is located in a remote area, and while there are other schools in the vicinity, SJK(C) Jabor seems to be operating with very limited enrollment.
The video has since sparked a wider conversation about rural education, the dwindling student population in certain areas, and the future of small schools like SJK(C) Jabor.
