A 36-year-old interior decorator was tragically killed after being stabbed approximately 20 times in an alleged altercation with an unidentified individual at an apartment in Persiaran Meranti, Bandar Sri Damansara. The incident took place around 11 pm on Sunday, September 15.
According to Bernama, Petaling Jaya District Police Chief ACP Shahrulnizam Jaafar stated that they received a report from the victim's neighbor, who feared for his own safety after hearing an argument and noticing the victim had not emerged from his apartment following the disturbance.
In a statement on Monday, September 16, ACP Shahrulnizam said, "A team from the Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarters (IPD) went to the apartment and found the victim, who had stab wounds, dead." The victims body has since been sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim lived alone in the apartment, which he had purchased last year. The police believe that the victim's belongings, including his wallet and mobile phone, were stolen during the incident.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. ACP Shahrulnizam has urged anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the Petaling Jaya IPD at 03-7966 2222. The authorities are working to identify and apprehend the suspect responsible for this gruesome crime.
