According to the statistics of the authorities, there are currently more than 2,000 foreigners working as barbers/hairdressers in local barbershops.
The Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah stated that all foreign employees, including barbers/hairdressers, must undergo COVID-19 testing if they want to resume their work.
He did not answer positively when he was asked whether the ministry would withdraw the relaxation order for the hairdressing industry.

Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the Ministry of Health will discuss with various government agencies to formulate relevant standard operating procedures (SOP) so that the patients who are diagnosed or the monitored persons who are undergoing quarantine could vote at Chini.
He said that the Ministry may not allow a severely diagnosed patient to go out to perform their voting duties.
