The Indonesian horror movie KKN Di Desa Penari has been trending in Malaysia for the past week and even for avid horror fans, this movie is quite hard to digest. If you're planning to watch the movie soon, here are some things you should know:
1. It is based on a horrifying true story.
A group of Indonesian university students was required to complete a field assignment in order to graduate and little did they know that when they had chosen a deserted village in a rural area as the location of their assignment, they would be forced to anticipate violent supernatural activities that would eventually leave several of them dead. This incident is said to have happened in 2009.
Below is a Twitter thread made by an Indonesian narrating the horrors of what had allegedly happened in the village, which inspired the horror movie.
