While we are celebrating Chinese New Year, we are also reading a lot of news headlines about 2019-nCoV, which has caused an outbreak in Wuhan, China.
Recently, Malaysia has confirmed three cases of the Wuhan coronavirus within the country by the Health Minister. Three Chinese, with China nationality from Wuhan, are family members of the 66-year-old Chinese patient who had been tested positive of the virus in Singapore recently.

Coronavirus outbreak is an outbreak of a pneumonia-like illness that started in the city of Wuhan. It has since put health authorities on high alert and the public in distress in China and around the world. The virus is named as 2019-nCoV, and according to Chinese authorities, it is said to have originated in the food market of central China, or it is transmitted through consuming wild animals, namely bats and camels.

Among the latest case was in Singapore, a 66-year-old man and his son were confirmed to have the virus while the rest showed no signs and this later has been reported that the 3 quarantined patients who are tested positive are related to the patient in Singapore.
04. How did the Ministry of Health handle the first Coronavirus case in Malaysia?
The Ministry of Health tracked down the remaining eight travelers who traveled along with the three patients in Johor, who traveled to Wuhan and arrived in Malaysia on Jan 23.
At the press conference, they stated that they had isolated them immediately from the public. 4 members within the travel group were tested negative and flew back to China.
A 35-year-old mother with her the two-child, who are the remaining travelers of the group, is currently taking care of her children at Sungai Buloh Hospital.
Health care workers treating the patients are also being monitored as a precautionary measure.
There is also a possibility of holding a potential travel ban to Wuhan, which is in the midst of discussions with the Home Ministry.
05. What Are The Symptoms
In order to help public identify the virus easier, authorities have released info of the symptoms which might occur on a person who is infected with Coronavirus.
The symptoms are very similar to that of a common cold, a lot of people might get paranoid if they are carrying the virus with them, but people should always be extra careful about it as the virus can be spread through human contact.
06. How To Reduce Risk of Getting It?
Fret not, because if you follow the precautions as informed by authorities, risks of getting transmitted are lowered.
For those who are traveling often on an airplane (e.g. students who travel from/to hometown, businessmen & -women), it is strictly advised that one should always wear a mask, and the type of mask you chose to wear should be taken into account too.
N95 mask & Surgical Mask are the most effective mask to prevent transmission of bacteria through air. However, surgical masks are highly recommended.
Last but not least, the public should also keep track of the latest news regarding Coronavirus to keep themselves well-informed of the outbreak.
There is not much the public can do about the virus, but if precautions are seriously taken into account, it is the best way to avoid yourself from becoming the next victim.
