I think it is safe to say that everyone knows Shopee as the number 1 e-commerce website in Malaysia and most of us has at least browsed through or bought something from Shopee during the MCO. With countless sellers, a huge variety of items for sale, and never-ending deals and promotions, its no wonder why many always end up buying more than they have planned.

For those that love shopping on Shopee, especially for big ticket items, here's a piece of good news: Shopee has introduced its own pay-by-installment service called "SPayLater"!

It's extremely easy to sign up, here's how:

Step 1: Go to the "Me" tab and choose "SPayLater"

Step 2: Once you're done reading the details, tap "Activate Now"

Step 3: Enter the OTP sent to your mobile number.

Step 4: Upload a picture of your IC and fill up your information.

Step 5: Do a facial verification.

Step 6: You're done!

SPayLater is a service provided to buyers on Shopee to purchase their items, enjoy it first and pay later (even through installments) without the need of credit cards. There are 4 different methods of paying later using a purchase example of RM100:

1. Buy Now Pay Later: You will only have to pay the total bill (RM100) at the end of the month without any additional fees.

Any other installment plans will incur a monthly fee of 1.25% of your total purchase.

2. Installment 2x: Pay 50 + 1.25%, total of RM51.25 for 2 months.

3. Installment 3x: Pay RM34.58 for 3 months.

4. Installment 6x: Pay RM17.92 for 6 months.

To make use of this service, just select "SPayLater" as your payment option when you are checking out, then choose your preferred payment schedule.

It's even simpler to pay your installment bills:

Step 1: Go to "SPayLater" and choose "Pay Now"

Step 2: You can see a list of paid and unpaid installments under "My Bills".

Step 3: Check how much you have to pay and proceed to pay.

Step 4: Choose your payment method and enter your ShopeePay PIN.

"SPayLater" payments have to be made by the 10th of each month, otherwise you will be charged a late payment fee. If "SPayLater" isn't available in your app yet, don't be too disappointed. "SPayLater" is currently only available for a select group of users but we're sure it'll be available for everyone soon! For more information, head over to Shopee's website here!
