An employee from Astro Malaysia Bhd was tested positive for Covid-19 and the company is closing its Bukit Jalil broadcasting centre for 2 days.
According to Astro, the infected co-worker works at the All Asia Broadcast Centre, Bukit Jalil, under Outside Broadcast (OB truck) transportation team.
Astro added that the co-worker is under proper treatment at a hospital.
Besides, Astro assured that its broadcasting services will operate as usual.
A statement from Astro says that “The company has activated its business continuity plans to safeguard its operations and to ensure the safety of its employees. Its teams are currently split across different sites with a significant majority working from home."
The company also emphasise the importance of their employee's health and safety, and therefore, they are working on identifying those who has directly contacted with the infected employee before. And as a precautionary step, they are closing the Bukit Jalil broadcast centre for full sanitisation and will reopen on April 8.
“This includes an increased frequency and level of cleaning of offices, providing hand sanitisers, encouraging social distancing in cafes and lifts, taking the temperatures of every employee entering our premises, cancelling shows with live audiences, public events and many other measures,” it added.
