A photo of a giant waterspout has been circulated on the social media today.
The massive waterspout was reportedly seen making a landfall at Batu Sapi, Sandakan when its picture was captured by a resident around 1 am.
However, Sandakan Fire and Rescue Department said it has not received any report regarding the waterspout yet.
Netizens were shocked by the appearance of tornado near a village at the coast, but it was also explained that the formation of a water tornado after a heavy rain is normal, and that it will vanish as it hurtled towards the coastline.
