The Jalur Gemilang is not only the official flag of the country, but it is also a symbol of the people's pride and should be raised proudly. 

Considering that we are now in the month of August, Malaysia’s Independence month and only a few days left for Merdeka Day many people are starting to join the festivities by decorating their premises, houses and even in vehicles with the flag. 

Recently, a video posted on tiktok that showed the patriotism of a man who was willing to walk in the middle of a busy road in order to save a Jalur Gemilang that was left on the road has impressed netizen’s all over Malaysia.

Through a video shared by @itsfiq19, the young man was initially seen getting out of the lorry he was driving in before rushing towards the busy road in front of them. 

He then stopped several vehicles before picking up something on the road. When he ran back to the lorry, it was clear that the object he picked up a Jalur Gemilang that may have fallen off a car. 

He was then seen running towards thre lorry, opening the door with a cheeful smile on his face while waving the flag.

Even his friend who recorded the video could be heard heard praising the man and saying: "Merdeka this boy"

The video now has over 48.4k likes and the comment section is filled with netizens praising this young man’s patriotism in a time where people find it hard to be patriotic.
