Based on a video gone viral on social media, it would appear that this Malaysian man has decided to save RM2,000 a month, by living in his car! (He has a stable career btw)
Mushamir Mustafa aged 32, started his new living arrangement in January this year—car living.
Doing up his car with a mattress and a few fans, he has since been staying in his Proton Iriz, and deems to have saved about RM2,000 every month.
He believes this to be a good way to save some money in this economic climate.
A marketing and communications manager, Mushamir was also born in Bangladesh. Since, he has lived in Brazil, Kosovo, Namibia and Sudan.
He got the idea to live in his car from a YouTube video and decided to give it a whirl.
During the weekdays, he parks near his office, in Damansara Perdana, PJ. On the weekends, he heads home to spend time with his mother who lives alone.
"This routine works for me, and I'm okay with it. Some friends thought I had financial problems, but the truth is, I chose this path because it's comfortable. The best part is not having to worry about utility bills, which saves a lot of money," he explained.
