Based on recent reports from yesterday (1 Aug), Korean Air have noted its initiative to discontinue instant noodles being served on air for economy class passengers, to look out for everyone’s safety.
The nation’s leading full-service air carrier said it will revamp its in-flight snack service for long-haul routes, starting 15 Aug over concerns of burn injuries.
The company will discontinue the provision of ramyeon, or instant cup noodles and replace them with a variety of snacks.
They noted that the move is to prevent burn injuries caused by hot water. In the economy class, flight attendants have to carry multiple cups with hot water to passengers seated closely together. This poses a risk to passengers and the flight attendants themselves.
That being said, the airline will offer new in-flight snacks like hot dogs, pizza, and hot pockets moving forward.
