The video, which has garnered significant attention, has led to numerous complaints about the potential hazards such trucks pose. Some users shared personal experiences, expressing fear and frustration over encountering similar overloaded vehicles.
User Chef_fisdio commented, "Every day, overloaded lorries like this pass through the Damansara Puchong Expressway (LDP). Sometimes, when I ride my motorbike, I keep my distance from these lorries because they're so tall its like they're trying to build KL Tower. I also wonder where the authorities are surely, they cant just pretend not to see it?"
Others echoed similar sentiments, calling out the lack of visible enforcement.
Several users questioned the response or lack there of from enforcement agencies.
User Saif Anas wrote, "Where is the Road Transport Department (RTD)? Surely they can see this its broad daylight."
Similarly, Taaru Rajoo G criticized authorities, saying, "How can you allow this? Somebody is either not doing their job or turning a blind eye. Action can be taken since there are road cameras installed. Public funds are being wasted."
Some speculated that the truck might be involved in collecting recyclable materials for additional income.
"The daily income from collecting recyclable trash is quite lucrative," user Ezman Rani suggested.
Another user, @thiran_waran, added, "The company could easily send two lorries if requested. But this one is trying to make extra money. Now I'm confused; is the garbage truck supposed to be collecting scrap metal or rubbish?"
The incident has also brought to light issues surrounding waste management and increasing rubbish production in the country.
"The population is increasing, and so is the rubbish. People throw trash without thinking. One apartment with 700 units even one garbage truck isn't enough. If its left behind, they'll say it wasn't collected," noted user Hikmah Hassa579.
A garbage truck driver from Langkawi, Rahizan Rahizan, shared his perspective, saying, "I drive garbage trucks like this in Langkawi too not even one item is allowed to hang or be tied to the lorry's body. The company prohibits it."
The viral video has prompted calls for stricter enforcement of road safety and garbage management regulations. Many netizens urged authorities to address the issue promptly to prevent potential accidents and ensure compliance with safety standards.
