PLUS Managing Director, Datuk Azman Ismail has clarified that the toll payment with RFID implemented next year is just an additional option to the existing transaction platform.

Users can still use Touch 'n Go cards & SmartTAG because only one RFID lane is provided at the toll plazas.

Earlier, it was reported the toll payment with RFID will be introduced on the Juru route, Penang to Skudai, Johor on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) from January 15 onwards.

The clarification comes after highway users expressed their concerns on the closure of T'nG & SmartTAG lanes. However, rest assured-both lanes will remain operational.

Highway users are highly encouraged to switch to RFID as it will be an initial step to implement toll payment without the presence of toll plazas.

This is in effort of realizing the Multi-Lane Free-Flow (MLFF) system in the country.
