Another day, another scam tactic discovered.
The Malaysian Ministry of Communications and Multimedia has posted an official PSA regarding the newest scam tactic imposed by irresponsible individuals, where they would reach out to potential victims via emails, pretending to be a public figure.
Typically, they'd assume the identity of a local politician or the head of any well-known organization or company. The public is advised to keep vigilant should they receive such an email, and report it immediately to the authorities.
- What should you do, in the event of receiving such emails?
1. Reach out through verified resources to the public figure to cross-check their identity
