Berjaya Food Berhad (BFood) and SPC Group Paris Baguette Singapore have partnered up to open the well-known South Korean bakery outlet across Malaysia this year. This joint venture agreement, in which BFood will own 50% ownership, is part of SPC Groups strategy to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia.
Malaysia would be the eighth international destination for Paris Baguette after Vietnam, United States, China, France, Cambodia, Singapore and Indonesia. The first Paris Baguette store will launch by the end of this year in Klang Valley.
Datuk Sydney Quays, Chief Executive of Berjaya Food Berhad says they planned to open at least five stores in Klang Valley by the end of 2022. "We are honored to be given the opportunity to bring the unparalleled collection of baked goods from Paris Baguette to the Malaysian market," he said.
Paris Baguette is a French-inspired bakery founded in South Korea in 1988. It is also a premium bakery brand and the #1 bakery chain in South Korea. This bakery chain is the first to introduce and develop European-style bakery culture in Korea.
